Faith Danielle Hedgepeth, daughter of Roland H. Hedgepeth and Connie H. Hedgepeth, was born in Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on September 26, 1992. She went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2012.
Faith was a lovely young woman both inside and out. With a heart of gold, she befriended everyone she met. Her beautifully infectious smile illuminated a room and touched every soul there within. Her bubbly personality and lighthearted laughter made her a joy to be around. Although her time on earth was short, she had an enormous impact on many. She will be deeply missed.
Faith was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church. She was active in GAs, Acteens, Youth Choir, and Usher Board. Faith was also a member of For Him Praise Team. She had a profound relationship with God, and truly valued her church.
As a child and young adult Faith continuously strived for excellence. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Project SEED at Duke University, Project Uplift, Camp Carolina, Summer Bridge and Renaissance, all at UNC Chapel Hill, Rising Stars Tutors, NCNAYO, SWAT, Native American Student Association, Youth Summit Committee, and Cheerleading. She was awarded a full college scholarship through Gates Millennium Scholars.
Faith was a junior majoring in biology at UNC- Chapel Hill. Faith had dreams of one day becoming a pediatrician or an elementary school teacher. She loved children and longed to work with them and make a difference in their lives in some aspect.
Above all of her many accomplishments, activities, and awards, her family was her true passion. She loved spending time with them, almost as much as they enjoyed being with her.
Faith was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Samuel Arvel Hedgepeth and Sarah Powell Hedgepeth, and her brother-in-law, Jeremy A. Evans, who was like a second father to her.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her parents, Connie H. Hedgepeth of Warrenton, NC and Roland H.
